It’s been just a few hours sinceMicrosoft's announcement of its "Surface" line of tablets, but Microsoft has already partnered up with other companies, such as Skype. How well will these Surface tablets work with Skype?Microsoft has just released an ad of the new Surface tablet with Skype, which is aVoIP service Microsoft acquired in recent months. Yes, Microsoft says that the new Surface tablets are prefect with Skype. The ‘about’ page on the new Surface site gives out some info about the Skype experience on Surface tablets that reads: "Surface has not just one, but two cameras. Use the front LifeCam to chat with the people that you care about. The rear-facing LifeCam is angled to 22 degrees so you can flip out the Kickstand and record meetings and events hands-free. Stereo speakers and dual microphones tuned for Skype help you sound like you are right next door." The resolution of the two cameras is unspecified,, but we can assume that the rear camera would be able to record 1080p videos and the front camera would be a 720p video recording capable camera. We expect to see Xbox LIVE being heavily integrated too. Since Microsoft owns both the Xbox line and Skype, it is easy to make this partnership. What do you think? Are you looking forward to trying a Surface tablet out?Which VoIP do you prefer, Apple’s FaceTime or Microsoft’s Skype?
