When you visit Kings Island Amusement Park, you will be pleasantly surprised by a lot of changes. The new Soak City Waterpark opened and is just amazing. Some of the water rides are simply amazing. There is now a huge splash river and wave pool, and over thirty water slides. Even though it is a separate park you get into it with your Kings Island pass or ticket so there is no extra charge. It is a great water park, probably the best I have ever been to. Of course you want to spend some time on the thrill rides, most notably Diamondback which opened a few years ago I think. The Diamondback ride is so smooth that it doesn't feel like a rough ride like so many other roller coasters do. It is extremely fast, I think the fastest ride I have ever been on. Delirium is another ride that will take your breath away. It is fairly new and provides great family fun. Firehawk is one of the neatest rides I have ever seen designed. You actually face the ground like you are flying while riding this ride. Simply a great design, this ride usually has long lines that move very slow but it is worth the wait. Some of the older rides are still awesome, including the Beast, Racer, Vortex, and Flight of Fear. These old rides are still great. The Drop Tower, Invertigo, Windseeker, and Flight Deck are all great rides you will really enjoy. So whether you want the water park or the thrill rides, or the shows and kids park, there is something for everyone and Kings Island is better than ever in my opinion. Just be sure you stay at a hotel by Kings Island since you do not want to have to travel after a long day very far before going to bed and getting up the next morning and doing it all again. There are a lot of hotels in Mason that would be sufficient for your stay. There also is a gem located just a couple miles south of Kings Island called the Comfort Suites. This hotel by Kings Island is about 3 miles away, only 1 exit from Kings Island and is substantially cheaper than all the hotels in Mason, Ohio. You can really save a lot of money by driving the extra 2 miles and staying at the Kings Island Comfort Suites at Fields Ertel Road. The Comfort Suites has everything all the other hotels near Kings Island have and more. All the amenities you could ever want are there, and a beautiful outdoor pool as well if you didn't visit the water park during the day.
