Microsoft is set to unveil its own branded tablet on Monday just following Google soon debut its first own branded tablet?Now according to a report from The Wrap, Microsoft is apparently working on its own Windows tabletet to compete with the iPad. " The company has scheduled a secretive event for Monday at 3:30 p.m. June 18 in Los Angeles, where it will make a "major" announcement whose nature has not been disclosed. Even the venue has not yet been announced. But an individual with knowledge of the company said that Microsoft would introduce a Microsoft-manufactured tablet at the event, marking a foray into a new hardware category that would put the company in direct competition with giant rival Apple." And All Things D has also speculated that the announcement will be related to Windows tablets.All Things D's sources said, with the company designing both hardware and software.The new Microsoft Tablet would presumably run Windows RT, a version of Windows 8 for tablets. Microsoft has a special event on Monday, June 18 in LA, where the company has promised a "major announcement", though it's unclear whether this is an own-brand Windows tablet reveal or something else.
