Autoresponders are one of the biggest secrets, yet hidden gems, when it comes to deploying your marketing program. You might or might not have heard the term, but either way, now it’s time to uncover the power hidden in this marketing tool. Then, you can harness the power to use autoresponders as a highly effective way to put your marketing program virtually on autopilot.

Autoresponders: What are They?

Essentially, an autoresponder is an email that is automatically scheduled to go out to your list. This means that you can write a series of marketing copy and marketing content, one time, but schedule it to automatically go out to subscribers as they join your list. The biggest benefit of using autoresponders is you are able to stay in constant contact with your audience without having to manually do it every time someone joins your list. Uses for Autoresponders

People use autoresponders in several different ways. The use of autoresponders is almost endless. Since it is a series of emails, some of the uses of autoresponders are the same as your uses for email blasts. For example, you may write a series of autoresponders to go out to the customers who purchase a product or service, and then create a different series for those that buy a different product or service. Here are three ways you can use autoresponders:

1. Series of Tips/Advice/FAQs: Another great way to use autoresponders is to break up longer content into pieces. Each piece then becomes one autoresponder in the series. So, “7 Tips to Write Marketing Copy that Sizzles & Sells” becomes seven individual emails that are part of the overall series. Include one tip or piece of advice in each email and then set up the series to go out automatically. FAQs are another option for a series of autoresponders. 2. E-course: One way is to offer an email course on a specific topic related to your business. You can offer the e-course free of charge to subscribers in exchange for them subscribing to your list. The key in creating an autoresponder series that is a course is to write content that is highly relevant and very useful to the reader. This is your chance to build credibility and trust with subscribers. 3. Free Content: Another great way to use autoresponders is to distribute free content. When someone subscribes to the Action Marketing Copy list, there is one year’s worth of content that goes out to the subscriber on a regular basis. Subscribers receive tons of free reports, ebooks and content—all just for providing a name and email address.
