While this is not an easy trip to do in Dar es Salaam, about 2 hour stretch of bumpy dirt road, Kilwa Masoko has much to offer travelers and locals. If you are looking for a great place to enjoy a relaxing weekend or a week, while in Tanzania, here are my top five things to do Kilwa,! 1 visit Kilwa Kisiwani. Historical Ruins This UNESCO World Heritage List is a fast boat from the main port city and offers a rare view of the East African history. There are various times of the architectural ruins here to explain the rise and fall of Kilwa most powerful commercial center along the Swahili coast. 2 Tropical Beach all to yourself Jimbizi Beach is the main beach Masoko Kilwa, and offers access to the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean. As an indigenous African is not very beach-goers, the beaches tend to get only occasional use of the tourists who come to the city. Many days, and at least every day, you can have all of the beach itself. 3 Go Diving Well kept secrets of Jem Divers are just a few kilometers from the beach Jimbizi. Diving center Kimbilio Lodge offers a variety of trips to the reefs and shelves are a wonderful part of Kilwa coast.
