With the economic outlook still bleak it seems that even people educated to university standard are struggling to find an appropriate job. It’s sort of ironic when you think about it; we have more university graduates in our country than ever before and fewer jobs too. Unlike a Masters Degree these courses can be academic or vocational and in many cases are linked to a specific profession, meaning they will provide the best chances for that particular field. Postgraduate degrees are placed at an equal level to that of a Masters (7), which is one level below doctorates, which stand at level 8. In most cases a bachelor’s degree with a grade of 2:2 or higher will be sufficient to gain entry to these courses, although this can obviously vary between different courses and universities. Typically these courses will have a duration of 12 months’ full time study, and the teaching styles can vary from lectures and seminars, research papers, projects, and sometimes work placements.
