Pau a little extra for quality compost and lightly sprinkle a layer all over your lawn trying to keep an even level. Lightly water the whole of your lawn but be careful not to flood it. Sprinkle all over with lawn seed paying more attention to bald or thinning patches and lightly water again. Try to stay off the lawn for about three weeks to allow the seeds to germinate. Never mow the lawn to below one inch this is what causes thinning and can reveal the soil. To keep your lawn looking thick and healthy it is advised to cut no more than once third of grass off at any one time. During the summer months cut the lawn once a week in a different direction every time. This will stop the grass getting used to growing in one direction. A sharp blade will give a clean look to your lawn and avoid disease to spread such as moss. Watering Many people don't ever water the lawn thinking that the rain will see to that but often a light rain isn't enough. To keep your lawn a beautiful deep green colour water deeply once a week. If you are worried about over or even under watering your lawn here is a great tip. Place an average sized cup in the centre of the lawn. Water the whole lawn generously until the cup is about half full this will ensure that you don't water log the lawn.
