Can you believe this garbage from the Humain Society? Read below... they don't care about reptiles, and would like to see most of them just out right banned. I guess they don't believe that people should be accountable for their actions?!? A few idiots can't care for reptiles and do something irresponsible, and the HS wants everyone to suffer? What about all the terrible things people do with dogs, and all the abbondoned, ferral cats? This just really upsets me.

Society calls for stricter bylaws over exotic pets By Frank Luba, The Province
There should be more restrictions on the importation of exotic animals, according to the Vancouver Humane Society.
The society called on Can-west Productions to restrict displays of reptiles at the past weekend's Pet Expo, which was held Saturday and Sun-day at the Pacific National Exhibition.
Prominent at the show was the Cinemazoo petting zoo, which included rep-tiles. The Cinemazoo web-site explains that "most of the animals we house were rescued from neglected or abandoned situations and are now used as natural ambassadors for the educational programs Cinemazoo offers."
But the society believes displaying the reptiles promotes them to prospective owners that often can't care for the creatures. While objecting to their display, the end goal is more restrictions in general, said the society's Peter Fricker.
"We would like stricter bylaws in municipalities which would include longer lists of prohibited animals, including these exotic species," said Fricker Sunday.
Cinemazoo managing director Gary Oliver agreed that there needs to be stricter controls on animal owner-ship. But he doesn't think his displays promote ownership of exotic animals.
"During our educational programs, we tell kids these are not good pets," said Oliver. "They are specialized. They need knowledgeable people."
