To write this blog, I feel like a barrow boy on a market stall in the east end of London talking an audience through the features and benefits of a oven cleaning product. Why? Because this place that I am referring to here in these paragraphs of mine, are just a steal, for $25 per night, you not only get a fantastic room, modern in appearance including flat screen TV’s as well as an en-suite that you would expect from a 5* hotel or an exclusive Bali Private Villa; but you get breakfast as well! Two things came to mind today, these were surf and if you like turf, turf being the place or somewhere safe, secure and comfortable to put your head. Let’s take the turf part of this blog as it is this part that has inspired me today, but not to forget the surf as it is the waves off Bali which makes this haven so ideal as a surfing paradise, Bali is one of the most desired locations from anywhere on this planet. The surfing community are heading here in droves as the statistics show, the surf here is just so ideal for a perfect surfing holiday. I have somehow deviated from my planned series of blogs, whereby I intended to inform you of parts of Bali as I traverse from Sanur around its southern tip. I am going to take you on a journey today to a region close to Canggu north of Seminyak almost directly on the opposite side to the island to that of the shores of Sanur. The reason for me to do this is for me clear, as today I read the statistics that show how Bali is increasing as a surfers paradise. I came across a beautiful bed and breakfast establishment called the Hitakara Bed & Breakfast. It is a modern contemporary oasis in the northern regions of Seminyak, closer to Canggu, this superb establishment is situated just a short walk from the golden sands of Berawa beach, I will put photos up on this blog to show just how idyllic this setting is. The management of the Hitakari B&B allowed me to look over their wonderful contemporary establishment, so for the benefit of this blog I duly did an inspection to ensure that I am able to accurately portray the facilities here in my scribblings, scribblings of wisdom I hope. This establishment is set on a good, made up road, this road runs only to the beach therefore it is relatively quiet, although there is a restaurant, cafe and a hotel close by. Such facilities on hand can provide the necessary sustenance as you pass throughout the day, no doubt as a surfer you are more likely to frequent the bars, restaurants and night spots of nearby Seminyak. I have pulled this place together in a blog as it is just so amazing in that its value and quality diverge that of expectation, by this I mean that the price beggars belief as it is just so cheap and the quality so high. The Hitakara is a modern facility, it has all the trimmings of a very good quality Private Villa or boutique hotel. There are 6 rooms in total, 3 of which are on the ground floor and the other 3 on the first floor, situated on the first floor is a balcony equipped with colonial wicker chairs, here breakfast is served. This level has a nice twist to it as it has an old fashioned but restored colonial bicycle used no doubt in the days of the Dutch empire. The setting is close by rice fields, so the views are superb and equal to that of a Bali Private Villa Rental in the Ubud inland area, a villa rental that charges more than 10 to 20 times that of this place. The Hitakara building is white in colour almost has the majestic appearance as that of the buildings of Santorini in Greece, well to be honest no single building can match that of the Santorini enclave but this place is in its way of equal charm. The rooms are equally as well painted and adorned with fine furnishings. The beds are king size, modern and comfortable, there is a flat screen tv in each room as well as tea and coffee facilities. Whilst the rooms are not huge they are more than spacious to move around within, each room comes with its own en-suite which I have to say is more spacious than I would have expected. Not only is the facility ideal but the location is ideal as the Hitakara is no more than 5 minutes walk from the golden sands of Berawa beach Bali. Included in the price is a continental breakfast – this place is so cheap but more importantly even at twice the price it would still be fantastic value. The price for this superb establishment is a knock out $25 per night including breakfast. I am stunned I cannot believe that this place can maintain this quality, give this level of service as well as include breakfast. To top it off it is so close to the shores of the Indian ocean on the side of Bali so suited for surfing.
