Arranging school travel to Italy can help you bring your lessons to life, especially in a country that can offer so much to a variety of classes. From art to history to business, there's something to offer every subject here - with Milan a particularly good place to visit. The city is viewed by many as the heart of modern Italy and is famous for being the country's fashion and financial hub. As a result, it makes for an interesting daytrip if your school trips to Italy are based at Lake Garda, as the two places could not be more different. Of course, Milan is not all about towering skyscrapers and contemporary architecture, as you will see if you visit Duomo. The beautiful cathedral was founded in the 1300s and you will spot it from some distance away thanks to its gleaming white facade and Gothic towers. Art and design students, as well as those interested in religious education, will love taking a tour around this place of worship - which is one of the biggest cathedrals in the world. For something completely different - but no less a place of worship for many - head next to San Siro, home of AC Milan and Inter Milan. These are two of the biggest and most successful football teams into the world, the clubs boast millions of fans and seeing the ground they play at is sure to be inspirational. A tour here could prove useful whether you are teaching pupils about business, architecture or sport. Of course, the city is also home to a wealth of art galleries - like the Pinacoteca di Brera - and museums. The Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology is a particularly popular option, as it is filled with fun, interactive exhibits that help bring its subject matter alive. Named after the artist who also dabbled in technology - and is famed for designing an early version of the helicopter - the museum is an interesting place to come with students studying these subjects. The Castello Sforzesco also houses museums, and is something of a tourism attraction in its own right, having been the home of the families that once ruled the city. Once your daytrip has come to an end you can return to Lake Garda and experience all the attractions this natural landmark has to offer. In addition, you can take further excursions to Verona or Venice, so that your students are getting a real taste of Italy. Resource STS Travel is one of the largest school travel companies in the UK.
