In India, matching of the horoscope of a boy and a girl is very essential before fixing up their marriage in order to know the relationships between planet, sign and nakshatrain the couple’s horoscope and how they may react inthe marital life of the couple. According to Vedic astrology planets and other celestial elements have a strong influence on human life. Ashtkoota (8 fold Koota) andBeeskoota (20 fold Koota). Ashtkoota method is popular in North India whereas Beeskoota is widely used in South India. There are 8 and 20 types of koota in Ashtkoota and Beeskoota respectively. Yogini koota is a part of Beeskoota. Here are some types of Yogini before discussing Yogini koota. Types of Yogini – According to VedicAstrology,there are 8 types of Yogini. These are Brahamani, Kaumari, Varahi, Vaishnavi, Mahendri, Chamunda, Maheshwari and Mahalakshmi. All Yogini in the Yogini koota are situated in the north east direction. A Yogini is the lord of 3 Nakshatras. A Yogini along with its Nakshatra is located in the east direction on the basis of a chakra. For example if Brahamani is the first Yogini and Ashwani the first nakshatra, they are located in the same chakra and the cycle goes on. There are 27 nakshatra and 8 Yoginis. By placing 3 nakshatra with a Yogini Purvabhadrapada, Uttrabhadrapada and Revatinakshatras remain unplaced. These 3 nakshatras are again located in the east direction to fall in the chakra of Brahamani, Kaumari and Varahi Yoginis. After placing the nakshatra with the Yogini the couple’s horoscopes are decided. If the marriage Muhurat contains the birth Yogini of the bride and the groom then it is measured as very auspicious for their marriage.Equally a different birth Yogini in the Muhurat of a marriage shows negative results in the life of the couple. It may cause problems in their married life. Some Inauspicious Yogas in horoscope–A horoscope can have both the auspicious and inauspicious yoga. A malefic yoga is born when there is an inauspicious planetary combination among the planets or the houses. Let us discuss some common malefic yogas that can be seen in a horoscope. • Kemadruma Yoga - This malefic yoga is formed in a horoscope when Moon is in the 2nd or 12th house and there are no other planets before or after the Moon. This yoga shows lack of wealth and struggle in the life of native. • Grahan Yoga - Combination of Rahu and Ketu with the Moon forms this yoga may causesdeterioration and formsdangerousgrahan yoga if Sun associates with these forces. This malefic yoga affects the native’s mental condition. • Shakat Yoga - This malefic yoga is formed when Jupiter is in the 6th or 8th house from the Moon. If a native’s horoscope has this yoga it means that the native may face complications gaining property. • Chandal Yoga – If the combination of Jupiter andRahu is placed in one’s horoscope, this malefic yoga is formed may cause negative effect on the native’s educational and financial life. • Kuja Yoga - Kuja yoga is formed when Mars is in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th house of a horoscope. This is also known as ManglikDosha may cause negative effect on the married life of a person, causing fights and conflicts.Some yogas are also formed in a horoscope when they combine with the houses of a planet. Some of them are as follow. • Shatrupeeda /Aswastha Yoga - If a sign is changing, any combination is taking place or the ascendant is weakened in the lord of the sixth house of the lord of the Ascendant then this yoga is formed. This yoga may cause an unpleasant health or may have problems from enemy. • Karj Yoga - When a horoscope has Mars in the Trikha house i.e. the 6th, 8th or 12th house and the lord of the ascendant or wealth is weakened then the native may be trapped in loans and may have a problems for repaying. • Shadhayantra Yoga - When Ascendant lord is in the 8th house in one’s horoscope and the house is not aspect by any auspicious planet then the native may face conspiracy from his close friends and near relatives. • Daridra Yoga - This yoga is formed when lord of prosperity and ghanesh is in the trikha house and ascendant is weakened in a horoscope may cause poverty in one’s life. • BhavaNashak Yoga - A lord of a house may cause damage if it is placed in the trikha house. As it harms the house and called bhavanashak yoga. • Vyaya Yoga –An arrogant wealth lord and a weakened Ascendant in a horoscope create this yoga. This yoga increases the native’s spoiling tendency. • Alpayu Yoga - This yoga is formed when the Moon is suffering by a malefic planet and occupies the trikha house or the Ascendant is weakened in a native’s horoscope. This yoga decreases the endurance of the native. • Marakesh Yoga - Dignified lords of the 2nd and 7th house and weakened ascendant create this yoga in one’s horoscope. This yoga may increase the chance of accident in native’s life. • Shadhastak Yoga - This yoga is formed in a horoscope when a planet is situated in the 6th or 8th house from another planet. This yoga can create enemies for the native.
