A L . a . radio station has pulled two popular talk radio hosts off of the air for comments they made about Whitney Houston. KFI AM 640 suspended John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou, the hosts in the "John and Ken Show," for "making insensitive and inappropriate comments concerning the late Whitney Houston," it said in a statement Thursday. "Management will not condone, support or tolerate statements on this kind," the station said. Based on audio posted online at UrbanInformer.com, the hosts known as the late singer a "crack ho" and said she was "cracked out for 25 years." Kobylt said in statement that he or she and Chiampou "used language which was inappropriate" and they "sincerely apologize" thus to their listeners and then to Houston's family. "We designed a mistake, and then we accept the station's decision," said Kobylt. The hosts, who broadcast their show weekday afternoons, will go back to the airwaves Feb. 27. Kobylt and Chiampou often rail against taxes and illegal immigration. The nation's Hispanic Media Coalition said during the past year that it targeted the show's advertisers to urge the crooks to stop backing this program. The group said the hosts promote hate speech and appealed to listeners to call and harass an advocate for immigrant rights about state legislation to give financial aid to illegal immigrant pupils. "A temporary suspension just isn't enough," Alex Nogales, president and CEO of NHMC, said inside of a statement. "How often do John and ken find spew their hate, apologize after which it do it again after starting a long weekend? KFI must permanently remove John and ken from your air. New york deserves better." John and ken, two California radio personalities on KFI-AM 640, have been suspended until Monday over remarks they made about the late Whitney Houston.
