All About the Thai Red Curry

Thailand is famous for its beautiful locations and hospitality. But there is one more thing for which Thailand is famous that is Thai food. Thai food is world known food. There are number of Thai recipes that people loves. Like Thai red curry, Thai green curry, Thai fishcakes, Thai noodles etc. but Thai red curry and Thai green curry are more famous than other recipes. Thai red curry is the one of the Thai street food .Thai people called “Keang” which means “Curry”. The main difference in the Thai red curry and green curry is that it is made from plenty of red chilly sauce. Thai red curry is the combination of curry paste with coconut milk. Thai red curry is easy to cook and most delicious Thai dish.

If you want to prepare Thai red curry then you need lots of time to prepare this. The main ingredient require to cook Thai red curry is the curry paste. You can purchase it from market as well as prepared at home. Thai red curry always served with the noodles and rice. The main ingredient that is curry paste is made of fresh coriander seeds, coriander roots, cumin, peppercorns, lemongrass, zest of lime, garlic, green chillies, black paper, piece of galangal, peeled and chopped them, shallots and shrimp. Grind these dry ingredients and make thick paste blending them in a blender. After this to cook Thai red curry first of all boil noodles in the boiling water, drain them then add some oil in them to prevent sticking of them.

Now pour some oil in the frying pan heat it until it enough that it starts sizzling when splashed with water. Then add curry paste in it and stir upto few minutes. Add chicken in it and cooked enough so that the chicken added in it is completely cooked. Now add chilli sauce, lime juice and fish sauce and boil for few minutes. Add noodles in it. You can also add extra chilli to make it more spicy. Serve the noodles in the bowl and garnish with peanuts, Thai basil leaves and fried onion.

Thai red curry required same ingredient as the Thai green curry that is curry paste. It is the main ingredient of all Thai curries. Today readymade curry paste is available in the market. You can purchase it from market and prepare these Thai recipes at home. But the authentic Thai curry paste is one that is prepared at home, made from scratch of herbs and fresh ingredient and grind with morter and pastle. Some people make this curry paste thick and store it in freezer so that when ever they cook curry use this curry paste by adding some coconut milk in it.
