A vital aspect of child development is playtime. Toys are an educational way for your child to learn different skills. Whether its building blocks or snap, it enables your child to develop the skills that they will need throughout life. Your child will no doubt love to play games and watch television, but as a parent you need to consider whether they are learning at this very important time of their developing years. The aim is to allow your child to have fun whilst learning skills that they need, this can be done with educational toys and games. Educational games and toys are designed to increase the abilities and knowledge of your child; they are a great implement to aid the learning process. The brain starts to develop at a very early stage in life and so allowing your child to play with educational toys will help with raising their IQ. Many educational toys also provide knowledge on various subjects. For example shaped blocks will help your child’s mathematical development. Ensure that your child doesn’t miss out on any of these skills by making playtime fun. Praise your child when they get a question right, say please and thank you and share their toys nicely. Toys don’t necessarily have to be brought because this can become expensive. The library is great for your child because they have a toy corner and there are many brightly coloured sense books that your child will love. It also enables them to be removed from their usual environment and get to meet other children and make friends. Enable your child to understand that going to the library is a reward for their good behaviour. Also if you know someone with a child of a similar age, swap toys. Allow their child to choose two of your child’s toys to borrow and the same for your child.
