The first method is called the caliper mounting method and the second method is the one called hub mounted method. These are good options but they do suffer from certain downsides. The first downside is that they will only work well if they are perfectly set up. Unless the set up is up to the mark you will not get desirable results. Both units will however perform well when it comes to repairing drums and rotors and they can ensure that after the repairs have been done that the items that were repaired can perform as well if not better than they performed when first made.
