Various fields in the manufacturing sector use the air compressor to achieve their purpose. Several processes call for the use of air at high pressure to drive certain machines or otherwise complete processes. In order to obtain high pressures the compression of air is necessary and this is where the air compressor comes in. The cylinder in which air is trapped undergoes a lot of screening before it is released for use. Its design is one that allows it to handle great pressures without breaking. On the other hand, if only constantly moving pistons and unidirectional valves are employed then it is a positive displacement type. The safety of this gadget is guaranteed by several fittings which come with it. One is the automated switch which enables the regulation of pressure within the prescribed limits. Cylinders that are fitted with each gadget are known to handle certain amounts of pressures which should not be exceeded at all costs. Specially designed valves are also fixed to perform the function of releasing excess pressure in case the cylinder is overfilled. Once full the compressed fluid is released in controlled conditions which enable the utilization of its force. Properly designed pipes are used to direct the pressurized fluid to the areas in which it is required. These pipes are capable of handling high pressurized fluid without breaking. Also since high pressures come with increased temperature changes their design also ensures that they are capable of functioning well in harshest conditions of temperature. Uses of these machines vary according to the purpose intended. For example in the automotive industry its use is to fill up tires and in offices it may be used to provide limited pressure for driving pneumatic tools. Its usefulness can as well be seen in gas filling stations where cylinders for cooking gas are packed. These applications mainly depend on this gadget to achieve their purpose and hence view it as an important tool of trade. The ability of air compressors depends mainly on the size of its cylinder. Large containers have larger surface areas as compared to small ones. This therefore means that bigger containers present greater forces and thus are preferred for tasks that entail a lot of force.
