Traffic Cones Are Synonymous With Traffic Delineators

Construction
From springtime into late fall, and sometimes even all year round, there is certainly one thing that no driver wants to see: orange cones. Construction on the highway, or anywhere there may be traffic, usually means delays. This is something that most people simply do not enjoy. However, have you ever considered the life of one of these traffic delineators? Just what are they made from and who makes them? What are they used for and where will you find them.

What exactly are traffic delineators? In case you haven't guessed already, this is merely a fancy name for the orange traffic cones that you see all of the time. They are used for traffic control in places where there will likely be a lot of congestion or construction, they are used for crowd protection and control, they give direction and safety for those on both sides of them.

Traffic cones are specially made to withstand many different environments. They are generally made from a special polyethylene polymer making them practically indestructible. This is very important because the cones must often face some harsh circumstances. The weather can be hot, cold or wet on any day, the cones might be struck by vehicles (accidentally or purposely), but whatever happens, they need to be able to stand their ground.

These cones are often colored in a manner that is supposed to capture attention. Most often, you will find that they are bright, almost fluorescent orange, yellow or white. They may or may not have reflective strips attached or even a flashing light on their tops. All of this is done in order to create a safer environment.

Obviously, traffic delineators aren't "one-size-fits-all" tools. That's why they are available in an array of shapes and sizes. Depending upon the job they are to do, you might want a looper tube/ring top, a grabber cone, a delineator post, or some other form of traffic cone. Though the vast majority of these cones are portable, some of them are made for permanent placement.

Permanently placed cones are often cemented in place, and could be manufactured a bit more sturdy than their portable counterparts. Portable cones require a base for support. This base is usually made from recycled rubber. Most manufacturer's sell these bases as an accessory to the cones.

Often times, traffic cones don't stand on their own. They may be used in conjunction with metal barricades or other types of safety/restrictive equipment. Regardless of whether they are utilized alone or with additional tools, these cones are designed to help you stay in line and away from harms way.

If you are looking for traffic delineators for a business or even for your individual use, you should not have a hard time finding them. For industrial use, you can put orders with manufacturers directly over the internet. Remember that many companies do have a minimum order number though. For personal use, you might be able to find cones at your local home improvement or hardware store.

If you were on the search for plastic barricades or other construction supplies like traffic tube delineators you are in luck because you have come to the right place . Trans-Supply has all different kinds of traffic barriers, road construction supplies, plastic delineators , arrow panel and many other options for traffic and construction supplies.
