The recent Illinois Appellate Court decision to overturn the murder conviction of Juan Rivera is a helpful reminder of why anyone who is ever charged with a crime needs the services of an experienced and dedicated defense attorney. Rivera was wrongly convicted of a murder that occurred in 1992. However, his legal team put in hours of work on his trial and his appeal and were finally able to secure justice for him.
