A Scene:Discover the Mystery of Faith Aditi m Sengupta, Harvard Medical School Post Graduate Association Children: Bound more intimately to the Church by the sacrament of confirmation, the faithful are endowed by the Holy spirit with special strength. Hence they became more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith both by word and by deed as true witnesses of Christ. So they said: It is God himself who has anointed us, marking us with his seal and giving us the pledge, the spirit , that we carry in our hearts."(II Cor. 2:22) The parents: "Your God will raise up for you a prophet like myself, from among yourselves, from your own brothers; to him you must listen."(Deut. 18:15) Then peeped in Satan, denying the creator's dominance. "I will not serve!Service is the source of injustice, unholiness and deceit." God replied: "I have watched over them and not one of them is lost except the one who chose to be lost."(John 17:12) The catechumens proclaimed"Yes". As each convert emerged from water after getting baptized in the sacrament of the Holy Trinity, they received a new white garment and carried a lighted candle. They had these words in their lips: "It is God himself who has anointed us, marking us with his seal and giving us the pledge, the spirit, that we carry in our hearts(IiCor. 2:22) Christ the lord of the Mass of Catechumens remained on earth in the form of bread and wine to nourish his community of Love. "For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink."(John 6:55), he said. This sacrament of welcome to Christ's kingdom make them possess Christ's eternal life as a birthright. "And if we were children , we are heirs as well: heirs of God and coheirs with Christ, sharing his suffering so as to share his glory."(Rom. 8:17) From this Mass of Community transformed by Love emerged a lawyer: He proclaimed: "For all the truth about us will be brought out in the law court of Christ, and each one of us will get what he deserves for the things he did in the body, good or bad."(II Cor. 5:10) A doctor proclaimed: "Keep faithful, and I will give you the crown of life for your prize."(Rev. 2:10) A heaven of Engineers were welcomed into heaven: "I tell you that many will come from east and west to take their places with Abraham and Issac and Jacob at the feast in the kingdom of heaven."(Matt.8:11) Conclusion: As we watch each of these sacraments closely, paying special attention to the symbolic meaning of matter used, the created universe symbolizes the goodness of its Creator. Evil does not come from the material universe, for it is only an obedient servant to the will of God.Evil has its origins only in the free spirit. In Christian tradition, the source of evil is Satan, the first spirit to use his freedom to deny the creator's dominance. So man is free to use matter as he will: as a sacrament with which to bless the Creator, or as an instrument to blaspheme Him. "Sons of men!bless the Lord;give glory and eternal praise to him.(Dan.3:82) A reading from :Let us proclaim the Mystery of Faith, by Ronald A. Sarno, S.J.Under the guidance of the Catholic community.
