After the fight between Pacquiao and Marquez, which was dubbed as the “Fight for all Ages”, many boxing fans, particularly Filipinos, felt disappointed about the result, even though Manny Pacquiao won the fight. The reason why, according to boxing analysts, was of Pacquiao’s poor performance in the ring. Not as Good as He was According to boxing experts, Pacquiao’s win against Marquez was mere luck as many viewers who watched the fight, from the arena itself to the millions of boxing fans around the world, have agreed that Marquez should have won the bout who made more connecting punches than that of Pacquiao’s. There was even a rumor that the game was rigged, and that Marquez should have really won the fight. “I have been a fan of Pacquiao ever since, but Marquez should have won this. If you judge it by points, he clearly had better and more hits,” said Romy Borras, who watched the live satellite screening in a cinema at SM City Manila. Borras added that the results appeared to have been rigged. “I’m sure that opinion will be shared by audiences globally,” he said. Reason for Pacquiao’s Poor Performance According to current Philippines Boxing News, the reason why Pacquiao performed very poorly on the ring is that his concentration was not on the fight, but somewhere else. According to interviews, before the fight, Pacquiao was in an argument with one of his trainers. This is one factor, experts have said, that affected his performance in the ring. Another reported factor which affected his performance was that Manny was not in good terms with his wife, Jinkee Pacquiao. In addition to that, many boxing analysts had also noted the amount of people that Manny Pacquiao surrounds him with, which can really ruin the boxer’s focus in the fight. Other than that, another factor which affected his performance was with his priorities. As a full-time congressman and part-time boxer, this had greatly affected his skills in boxing. According to Latest News of Pacquiao, in between training, Pacquiao tries to do his job as a congressman. According to a renowned boxing analyst in the Philippines, if Pacquiao wanted to return the “Eye of the Tiger”, in which Pacquiao didn’t do any justice in his fight; he has to put his priorities straight.
