Christmas Shopping in London Town

Small Business
There's no better time for those that love shopping than Christmas and few better than London. The capital of the UK offers a huge selection of shops, shopping centres and all the items you could ever wish for, for the Christmas period.

Getting There

London is quite easily serviced by a number of airports and other options. Heathrow offers the easiest large airport with good connections into the city, however Gatwick, Luton and Stansted are all serviced by train into the centre of London. Heathrow is serviced by train and the cheaper tube option.

Oxford Circus

When in the city, where is the best place to shop? Well fortunately the bag laden reveller can be quite well serviced and there are a number of places that offer great shopping opportunities. The most famous of these and a place where the bustle and atmosphere is commonly seen is Oxford Street – right slap bang in the middle of London with plenty of mega deals for you to make the most of.

This long strip that is more than a mile long offers all the shopping chances you could wish for with all high street choices from H and M, to Electrical shops to more upmarket options such as Selfridges and the more practical choice of Primark – a huge one at that.

Hamley's

Oxford Circus can become very busy around the shopping season and especially at weekends, however if it is buzz you're after then this is the place to find it. Just off Oxford street IS regents street – another fine shopping street. The famous Hamley's Toy Shop is situated here and is a must see for big and small kids alike and has more toys and games than anyone could really imagine. Regent's Street also offers other wonderful choices for shopping and the natural geographic store is a fantastic visit, even just for the experience.

Carnaby Street

Just off Regents Street is Carnaby Street. This is one of the most well know streets in London and associated with the 1960s, however to this very day is still a great place to visit with plenty of special deals for Christmas

Carnaby St has numerous English fashion designers and offers the quirky and the quintessentially English in one place. Large shops such as and other smaller companies give visitors the taste of English design they are looking for. So, if it's something a little different, in fashion and also British this is the place to come.

Camden Market can also be a great place to visit and get Christmas presents and is a far more left field choice. Ideal for picking up the weird and wonderful, Camden Market and the surround area may be the best choice for teenagers presents and others of like mindedness.

Shopping Centres

London is also home to a number of large shopping centres. The current largest of which being the Westfield Centre in East London, near the Olympic village in Stratford. This area is easily accessed by the over ground and the tube and the shopping centre is only a few seconds walk from the station. Westfield is the largest shopping centre in Europe currently and offers designers, clothing, toys and restaurants under one roof with plenty of daily deals.

The centre itself is quite spectacular looking and designed to the highest standard. If you ‘re looking for a less busy option with the same feel, why not try the original Westfield near shepherds bush in West London. This Westfield which is slightly older but just as glamorous is just as highly decorated and also comes with less hustle and bustle than the newer version of the shopping centre. Once again it is easily accessed and offers all the shops you'd expect as well as a designer village of high quality names for those wanting to buy that something special.

Wrap Up

London offers a wide selection of shopping areas for people who require anything they can think of. If you want it, it is there, though the experience is vastly different depending on where you go. So, look at the options and choose for yourself and enjoy yourself.
