After their loss against the Tropang Texters, the Elastopainters had have had a great match against the winless Alaska Sunday, October 23, 2011, which tied Rain or Shine with Talk ‘N Text and Barako Bull, in which both teams had been in idle since their last matches. Shining Glory According to PBA Latest News, Rain or Shine’s ranking rose to the top of the standing after winning a match against the Alaska Aces, scoring 120 points against the Ace’s 84 points. However, Painters fans were surprised that their lead rookie, Paul Lee, wasn’t able to shine since their loss against Talk ‘N Text. It was the Marksman himself, Jeff Chan, that got the Elastopainters in the early goings of the game when he unleashed five three pointers in the first quarter alone to wrap up with 20 points on 60 percent shooting clip from the outside. Other than the Marksman, Burly ""bigman" JR Quinahan and Ronjay Buenafe had also contributed 19 points and 17 points, respectively, to the total score board, while Lee had only made a total of 5 scores in the whole game. “The strength of our team is really in the balance that we have. Everybody made a contribution. It just proves a point—we’re not going to put the responsibilty on Paul Lee’s shoulders,” Rain or Shine Coach Yeng Guiao said after the game. Alaska’s Dismay The Alaska Aces, on the other hand, had gained their fourth consecutive loss since the departure of their head coach Time Cone. In their first three games, LA Tenorio was not doing well enough to keep his team on the offensive, in which he was only able to hit just 1-of-11 attempts in their last loss. Only Sonny Thoss is proving to be the steadiest force since Tim Cone left the Aces. However, in their match against the Elasto Painters, LA Tenorio single-handedly tried to regain his team’s honor in the third quarter. However, his 20 points was still not enough to cover their 34 points loss against Rain or Shine. Petron Blaze, Blazing for their Fourth Consecutive Win Petron Blaze, on the other hand, is now eyeing to win its fourth consecutive win by beating Meralco. According to PBA News, the Boosters battle Meralco in the 4:15 p.m. contest bidding to keep the lead as the only undefeated squad in the 10-team roster.
