In an era of a globalized economy, international travel has become a common part of daily life. Companies across the globe have begun to work together on international business ventures. Therefore, managers and employees do not know where they will be from one day to the next. While this globalization has created several problems such as cultural misunderstandings, linguistic barriers, and economic disparity, there is one major issue that confronts a traveler before he takes a single step outside his front door. "What do you take with you, and how do you get the things you need to the places you are going?" The answer is luggage. This is an umbrella-word for bags. Luggage includes several different types of bags. These bags may include totes, suitcases and day bags. This is a far too simplistic a view of travel for the modern era. Each type of bag serves a purpose. For example, carry on luggage is the only type of luggage that airports will allow to take on board an aircraft. Many people use their carry ons to hold things such as books and laptop computers. This allows people to entertain themselves during long flights, or to remain productive while in-route to their destination. The presence of a carry on will allow the jet-lagged businessman to go over his sales pitch, or his presentation hours before the pivotal meeting, which could make or break that crucial deal. The final type of luggage that will be discussed here is the travel bag. This type of bag is one of the smallest type of bag. These bags are intended to aid the traveler in performing a task, which always seems to be the most difficult task to achieve, and that is to pack light. Travel bags are intended to be used for short trips such as day trips, road trips, and other excursions, which are only intended to last a few days. Luggage is one of the most crucial components of a trip, but one should always investigate the rules and regulations associated with baggage at the international airports one frequents. In many nations, including the United States, luggage is often searched by indigenous customs officers. Each nation's laws and regulations are different. Based on this, information, the would-be traveler should not only investigate the type of bags needed for their commercial or entertaining journeys, but they should also know what types of things are allowed to enter into foreign nations. Pack for success, and enjoy your view of the world.
