Oxford Style
This sort of boot may be identified by the lacing. This style of lacing is characterized by shoelace eyelet tabs that are created or stitched underneath the vamp. This stitching technique is also known as "closed lacing".
Wingtip Kind
A version of the brogue known as the full brogues a.k.a wingtips can be identified by it's construction. This can look like a pointed toe cap with extensions (wings). These will run along both sides of the toe. These wings will terminate near the front foot. Should you appear in the shoe from above the previously described cap style can look to be a "W" in shape. Numerous people feel this looks like a bird with it's wings extended. This really is how the term "wingtips" got placed on this style of boot.
