Blogger, full-time mother, and former fashion model Ingrid Callot has a lot of things to say about leading an environmentally friendly lifestyle and maintaining a green home. This does not mean, however, that she is unable to understand and appreciate the difficulties that people have when it comes to readily and completely adhering to all the demands of environmental conservation. In such cases, Callot believes that it is best to start with something simple, easy, but also immediately effective by donating to the top environmental organizations in the world. An example of this would be the Sierra Club. It may not have the international fame and recognition that other agencies listed here get to enjoy, but that doesn’t mean it’s no heavyweight in the world of environmental conservation. In fact, the Sierra Club, which was built in 1892, plays an important role in the development of modern environmental movement. Another organization that Ingrid Callot encourages other individuals of supporting either with donation or by volunteering is the National Audubon Society. A lot of people know the organization as one of the best sources of guides for bird watching as well as other types of activities related to animals. An interesting fact about the NAS is its creator was not John Audubon; rather, the society was inspired by the work of the famous bird watching guide writer but organized instead by George B. Grinnell and his colleagues. Another organization to keep in mind is WWF. The organization is famous all over the world with its easily recognized panda logo. Although it is younger than other organizations, it cannot be considered a newbie either, having already over four decades of dedicated work under its belt. Today, WWF has five million members all over the world and over 1.2M more in the United States. Greenpeace, another easily recognized name, was also built around the same time WWF did. It made a mark in history, however, because of the role it often plays when interacting with governments from all around the globe to ensure that environmental reforms were passed and implemented. Those who are in the legal profession, on the other hand, should consider joining the Natural Resources Defense Council or NRDC. This is a unique organization that is composed mainly of lawyers who work hard to promote legal and legislative changes for the betterment of the environment. Lastly, Ingrid Callot says that people should also support the Nature Conservancy, which was founded in 1951. Today, the group is composed of 700-plus scientists scattered all over the globe to protect water and lands from pollution and ruin. The organization is unique in the sense that it focuses mostly on taking a scientific approach to environmental conservation.
