SURYA PUJA, MANTRA AND VEDIC ASTROLOGY

Spiritual
The Sun in Vedic Astrology is referred to as Surya. The word ‘Surya’ means ‘promoter’. Sun, as the lord of nine Grahas or lord of Navagrahas, is identical with the supreme Vishnu and the famous Gayathri Mantra. Tantrics interpret the symbol of Swastika to represent the movement of the Sun with the four arms to represent its position at midnight, sunrise, noon and sunset. Our ancestors used to perform Surya Namaskara with the various Surya Namaskar Mantras.

Surya Namaskara is an excellent tool to alleviate any malefic effects of Surya Mahadasha. A volley of scientific information underlying our ancient beliefs regarding our Sun is now being projected by erudite scholars. He gives light, produces day and night, gives power and strength to the living beings, makes them active and destroys their laziness and disease.

SUN PUJA Sun is the ruler of the planets. It doesn't qualify in either benefic or malefic but has class of its own because the placement of Sun wherever makes the the native separate from the aspect of life.

In case of Benefic & is affecting the chart the Native should wear Ruby Gemstone embedded in Gold ring on Sunday between 16:30 to 18:00 in the 3rd finger.

In case of Malefic & is affecting the chart The Native should wear 1 Mukhi Rudraksha in Red silk thread in the neck on Sunday.

The native should recite Sun Beej Mantra 7,000 times daily.

The Native should daan Gold/Wheat/Copper on Sunday & do Surya Namaskar daily & recite Surya Mantra 108 times.

The native should kept Sun Yantra in Home as well as Office in copper.

In case of Highly Malefic & is affecting the chart According to Vedic Astrology the Sun embodies your conscious mind. He symbolizes your determination as well as the ingenious life force in you! The Sun directs you, and can be considered as the chief person of your natal chart. It is rightly said that Sun is the psychological bias which will dominate your actions. Sun or Surya is considered to be is the benefactor of life; the most dominant planet in astrological jargon as any planet placed with it gets combust. In Medical astrology, the Sun rules your brain.

Sun stands for power and authority. When one is deprived of happiness through termination of service, suspension or through opponents or diseases etc. Surya or the Sun is considered to be the most powerful of all the Navagrahas. It becomes easy to associate with him as he is seen every day.

In the Navagraha temple, the idol of Surya is usually located at the centre with the rest of the idols of the other eight deities around it. Surya is usually imagined or picturised as the radiant lord with golden and shining arms who is riding a chariot called Uchchaishrawa, that is pulled by seven white horses. Few of them interpret these seven horses as seven different colors of the white light and rest of them state that they represent the seven days of the week. The charioteer of Surya is Aruna, the brother of Garuda.

In Mahabharata, Karan is also acknowledged as the son of Surya as he was born due to a mantra that was recited for Surya by Kunti. According to the Hindu scriptures, Surya has two wives, Sanjana and Chaya. His sons are Manu, Shani, and Yama. He also has a daughter, Yamuna. He is supposed to bestow health, success, and prosperity. He is the giver of life. He is the centre of the whole system and it is unimaginable to think of any existence without Surya. Hence he often referred to as the father or the soul of the entire system.

In one's horoscope, the position of Surya is said to be the strongest when he is directly overhead in the tenth house and on the angles i.e. the first, fourth, and the seventh houses. If Surya is in the leading position in one's horoscope, then that person is supposed to have leadership and authoritative qualities and may turn out be one of the important people in the society.

The health points that are ruled by Surya are heart, blood circulation, eyes, head, hair growth, abdomen, digestion, and fever. Ayurveda classifies the constitution as Pitta. The color associated with Surya is usually red. The metal in connection with Surya is Gold. Ruby is the gem stone connected with Surya. Sunday is known as the day of this fiery lord. Wheat is the food grain associated with him.

Mantra of Sun The Sun is the Creator, Preserver and destroyer and takes the three forms of "BRAMHA", "VISHNU", and "RUDRA". Hence the Sun symbolizing godhead is said to be Omniscient (all seeing / knowing Brahma), Omnipresent (Present everywhere and preserving Shri Vishnu) and Omnipotent (all-powerful like Lord Shiva). Thus the Sun becomes the "Ayana" (direction) of the Nara (humans) and is called "Narayana" (God).

Since the 10th house governs "Karma" the "DasAkshari" (10 lettered) Mantra of the Sun God helps one to achieve success in career / profession and in one's endeavor. Mantras for Surya Puja

- OM HRIM GHRINI SURYAADITYA OM

- OM HRIM GHRINI SURYAADITYA AIM

- OM HRIM GHRINI SURYAADITYA AIM

- OM GHRINI SURYAADITYAH

All Vedas regard Surya as the witness (Saakshi) of all actions. The Sun is the 'indicator of the soul'. The Surya is the indicator of our ego, honor, status, fame, the heart, the eyes, general vitality, respect and power.

People can observe fast on Sundays and can take salt-free food (one time meal before sunset). It is regarded as beneficial. One should meditate on the rising sun. If not possible, they should meditate on a ruby. After reciting and meditating on the Sun, one should offer water adding a few rice grains and vermillion to the Sun Lord. It is really beneficial for every person. The Sun is the god of light and intellect, may god bless you with all the grace. Read more to know about the Sun and its affects. The nature of Surya is fiery. The Sun is the most powerful of all the stars. It is believed that the stronger the Sun the bigger the ego, so much in fact that there might be small place for other people to exist in such egoistic brilliance. Thus, it is where the excess vanity of the Sun exerts a malefic influence. A well-located Sun provides intelligence, perception, strength of will and character. It creates endurance, stamina, vitality, positive spirit, direction, courage, conviction, confidence, leadership, independence and straight- forwardness.

An ill-placed Sun gives lack of intelligence, poor perception, weakness of will and character.

It creates lack of endurance, low vitality, melancholy, fear, dependency or servitude, deviousness or dishonesty. An overly strong but ill-disposed Sun creates pride, arrogance, tyranny and control.

It creates much of the same problems as Mars (or Saturn), when too strong. A weak but spiritually inclined Sun makes us friendly, desiring to do good and self-effacing.

According to Vedic Astrology Surya Puja is a divine boon for those who face problems, hurdles and misfortune in their lives. Worship of Sun is beneficial when people get stuck, no matter how hard working, honest and intelligent they are good luck seems to ignore them. People who aspire for sound health, prosperity, good eyesight, strength and courage, success, cure of chronic diseases like leprosy, heart ailment, nervous weakness, asthma etc. should worship the Sun. This planet is known for his Power, strength and glory an ill-placed Sun could also lead to difficulties in health, relating to heart or blood pressure/ blood circulation. In such a case, it is advisable to recite Surya Japa or Dhyan Mantra. After planning to perform the Surya Puja, one should wear clean red clothes on Sunday and offer lotus flower to the God, facing the east direction.
