Lamps and shades are very popular throughout the entire world and some people may use lamps shades to represent their cultures. Some types of lamps shades have an interesting history and are fun to learn about. Some of these lamps and shades are the glass shades that were made by Tiffany and some others are fabric lamp shades that can include, classic pleated lamp shades, silk lamp shades, quilt lamp shades, bedding shades and octagonal fabric lamps. One of the most popular, exclusive, and beautiful lamps and shades in the world were first made by Louis Tiffany. Louis Tiffany was one of the sons of the famous jeweler, Charles Tiffany. Louis was the first person to create these beautiful and intricate lamps. He made them out of discarded pieces of glass that were found in the Tiffany and Co manufacturing plants. After he collected the pieces of glass he would use his artistic ability to form them into beautiful glass creations, like dragonflies, butterflies or flowers and fruits, to name a few. These beautiful lampshades today can range in price range from two hundred dollars to over one thousand dollars. The originals are becoming increasingly rare, but there are other vendors who make lamps and shades that are just as beautiful and unique. Fabric lamps and shades are also very popular and are representative of several people's cultures throughout the world. Fabric lamps and shades have a unique design and fit in with the modern and stylish look. There are various types of fabric lampshades and they can be used on the floor, or on any hard surface. One of the fabric lamps and shades is the classic pleated lamp shade. Silk lamps shades can add a luxurious feel to any room and can come plain or with intricate design. Quilt lamp shades are very similar to antique glass lamp shades, but are made of quilts and not glass. These lamps and shades are very colorful and can add great design and dimension to any room.
