There are fantastic and efficient transport services travelling within Aberdeen and further afield. The city hosts its own Airport, Railway Station and Bus Station as well as providing a ferry service to neighbouring islands and a cycle route linking many cities within Scotland. Aberdeen Airport is situated in the area of Dyce approximately six miles north of Aberdeen City Centre. Services from Aberdeen Airport offer international flights to France, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Ireland and Scandinavian countries, as well as local flights within the UK. As well as the three main passenger terminals, there are also a further three terminals used for North Sea helicopter operations. Aberdeen Airport is easily accessible with an 80 Dyce Airlink shuttle bus frequently travelling to and from Dyce railway station. As well as this Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow have also extended their services to stop at Dyce railway station to provide easier access to Aberdeen Airport. Also there are bus services locally linking the airport and the city centre. The airport also provides secure parking facilities for the traveller and a regular shuttle bus transporting passengers to and from the car park and airport. Aberdeen Railway Station is Aberdeen’s main train station and is located in Aberdeen City Centre. This train station provides services travelling to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness as well as serving smaller stations in between. As well as this, services also operate further afield to Newcastle, York, Leeds and London Kings Cross. There are car parking facilities available in the area, as well as a taxi stand located within the train station. Aberdeen Bus Station is also situated in the city centre, next to Aberdeen Railway Station. Buses run locally around Aberdeen and the city centre, as well as providing services around Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom. Aberdeen has a Ferry Terminal which is the largest in Scotland and is conveniently located approximately a mile from Aberdeen Bus and Railway Station. The terminal provides ferry services across to Orkney and Shetland Islands. As well as this, Aberdeen is also linked to the UK National Cycle Network which has a route travelling south to some cities including Edinburgh and Dundee. There are also tracks situated approximately 10 miles from the city leading north to Inverness and Fraserburgh. If you rent a flat in Aberdeen you will have no problem travelling locally around the city with its reliable bus services. If travelling further afield you will also have easy access to Aberdeen’s Airport, Train and Bus Stations.
