Roberta McNabb, a resident of Canada, is a strong supporter of creating awareness about effects of autism in the society. The major cause behind increasing rate of this disease is due to lack of awareness among people about its symptoms. Autistic children can greatly benefit from effective and proven therapy solutions such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA treatment uses psychological and educational techniques to teach behaviors to children with autism. With the purpose of reducing the increasing rate of autism, Roberta McNabb educates the public about this disorder and takes steps to help autistic children in getting necessary support and services. Roberta McNabb and her husband Ed McNabb fought in the court for their son Jordon McNabb to obtain medically needed therapy (Applied Behavior Analysis). ABA is considered as the most effective evidence-based therapeutic approach for children with autism. The interventions based on ABA are best known for treating people with development disabilities like autism. The couple won the case in the court of Ontario and the government will help them with the cost of therapy which ranges from $50000 to $60000 a year. All through the years, Roberta McNabb has always stood by her son. Roberta McNabb has also attended Jake's House, a charity to support children and families dealing with the effects of autism located in Toronto, Ontario. It was founded by parents of Jake, David and Irene Bodanis looking to help out other families by using their own personal experiences with autism. Jake’s House was started in the year 2002 as a result of much hard work, compassion and kindness of friends such as Dennis Flynn. They believe that the greatest joys in life come from every day experiences with family and friends and tries to bring the same joy and happiness in lives of children with autism.
