It is quite impossible that cable TV is one of the best entertainment sources at home. But how is it possible for them to dominate the source of entertainment? Why can't be the MP3's and iPods proved to better than cable TV? Why can't the Android tablets dominate the cable television? It's clear to me that cable television is known to be the best all-around home entertainment of all time. But there's one gadget that proves to be a better competitor, but it does not surpass the audience impact of cable television. I'm talking about a gadget called game console. But what exactly is game console? A game console is a playing platform that allows us to play video and online games on TV. Some of the best examples of gaming consoles are Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Gamecube and Nintendo Wii. Since they were being addicted by lots of kids and young adults, can they exist without the presence of cable TV? Absolutely not! You know why? Gaming consoles are required to attach an audio-video jack to view the game. If you are just playing the game without TV but with joysticks, you are an idiot. Definitely it requires television to start playing it. But hey, we're not talking mostly about gaming consoles here. I'm going to talk on how cable television is quite better than gaming consoles. Going back to the first paragraph, cable television is an all-around entertainment package. It allows you to watch as many shows as you want. Compare to non-cable TV sets, it gives you around more than 100 channels to watch and it has clearer vision like no other. But for non-cable television sets, you will only use a traditional antenna to gather signal from your local UHF station. Therefore, it is not yet good enough to suit your entertainment needs. However, cable television does charge or bill you every single month as a subscriber. As for the gaming consoles, you will only pay one-time for it (except for the game CD's or DVD's). However, these gaming consoles can't be played without the presence of a TV in your home. Another weakness for it is that when you didn't use it in a matter of months, it may cause some malfunction inside your gaming console. As for the cable television, it may last up to a decade or two (depends on the quality and longevity of use), which is one reason that game consoles can't beat them for good.
