Carpets home accessories used to beautify the floors of homes but they can also be essential in cold areas of the world as they help to retain heat within a room. Choosing the right carpet for your home is a very simple process as long as you have a few points and criteria to use as guidelines. Carpet prices have a very wide range depending on the quality of material used, the handwork involved, the texture, and so on. If you are ready to pay any amount for a carpet, you could choose more expensive options, for instance woolen carpets. Woven or knitted carpets are also very popular in countries like Turkey, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other areas in the Middle East. These countries also specialize in handmade carpets with embroidery all over. They are expensive because of the intricate work involved in designing them. Carpets can be woolen, nylon, polyester etc and each of these suit different needs and environment. Woolen carpets, although expensive, are the most durable and are best suited for in front of the fire. This can also be used in bedrooms in cold countries because they help retain the heat in the room. Nylon carpets are not so long lasting, but are the toughest. If you have many people walking in and out of the carpeted area of your home every day, or little children and pets at home, they are the best option. However, nylon carpets cannot be used in areas of bright sunlight, chlorine or bleach. The harsh agents tend to change the color of the carpet making it lose its shine. Before you choose a carpet, you need to keep in mind the possible extent of use and abuse of the carpet. Little children could drop food, paints, water, or even throw up on the carpets. Pets could dirty the carpet with their excretions and fur as well. Would you want an expensive carpet that cannot be cleaned easily? Ensure you choose a carpet that can be easily cleaned if you anticipate such possible mishaps. The color of the carpet should be based on the color of your walls, the ceiling, the furniture and all the other accessories in your home. It also depends on the type of furniture you choose for your home. If you have an antique set up for your home, you could use embroidered or knitted carpets. However, English or French carpets look very stylish in homes with less furniture. White carpets are very popular nowadays, but keeping it clean and white is a hard task. Once these few guidelines are jotted down and followed, you are ready to walk into the store and pick the carpet that is best suited for your home.
