Decorated tins are a wonderful way of presenting any gift. Choose a tin that matches the theme of your gift, and the recipient will be happy that to have two gifts in one. The tin can be used later for any number of things. For example, if you give the gift of a scarf, you can place it in a decorative tin. The tin can then be used later to store shoes, art supplies or even more scarves. A decorated tin can also be used for kitchen items and utensils. You can fill the tin with a lovely housewarming gift. Afterwards it will make a great addition to the kitchen to hold your tea. When you are selecting a decorative tin, keep size and proportion in mind. You want to choose a size that will not be too large. A small or medium sized tin will be easier to place in a cabinet or closet later. You may also want to use these in a child's playroom. They can paint each of the tins with their names. The tins can then be used for each of you children. This will help them to easily identify where they should put their toys. You can purchase tins at an arts and crafts supply store. You can also search yard sales, garage sales and estate sales. You may also be able to locate old, collector's tins online. You can find tins that used to hold everything from toys to soda crackers. Collector's tins may be far more expensive, but in the end they are also much more valuable to the person you give them to. Collector's tins mat not always be in the best condition. However the dings and small dents add a dimension of interest to the tin. If you are giving a gift to an older friend or family member, you may want to make the gift sentimental. Ask them about their favorite snack or toy as a child. See if you can find a collector's tin of this brand. It will carry a great deal of meaning and make your gift stand out from any of the other gifts that they receive. Decorative tins have a multitude of different uses. Do not be afraid to think outside of the box and use the tin for something fun or inventive. Whether it is used as a planter or a present, a decorative tin is a great gift.
