Writing advertising jingles is a great way to make money with your music. Many times a new song will be written instead of using an existing piece for an advertising campaign. Getting involved with an advertising agency is one way to put music dollars in your pockets and get your work noticed by the public. Every business wants it, but few know how to get it. I'm talking about instant recognition. The kind you get when you hear a slogan, some piece of music or even see a logo that brings a specific business to mind. Many businesses try to get that kind of recognition, but most go about it in all the wrong ways. Music effects us and our mind on different way. Music works on the subconscious. You may not even know it’s working until, suddenly, you’ve got the latest pop hit stuck in your head and it won’t go away. How many print ads or voiceover spots can you recall from just a year ago–or last week, for that matter? Remember… the San Francisco Treat? Jingles are instantly recognizable: the impression is made in the first few notes. An effective combination of melody, rhythm and rhyme tells an unforgettable story. Remember… what is the place with the helpful hardware man? High-quality jingles break through spoken-word ad clutter. They stand out. National-quality music can make commercial breaks more enjoyable. We all remember infectious jingles from years gone by. Wouldn’t it be great if customers in your area couldn’t help but hum along with yours? We always give least importance to radio ads but from a research it has been proved that Radio ads and Radio commercials are among the strongest medium that can sell things. When this very personal medium is used well, it informs, stimulates emotions, and engenders trust, all the things that make us buy. I know this first hand. The key to successful branding is really in your own hands. Wal-Mart didn't get to be the powerhouse we know today because of a smiley-face. It was because Sam Walton jumped in his truck every morning and set out to find the best deals on anything he could and used all his disposable resources to make his branding efforts true in the eyes of the consumers. Therefore it's your job as a manager/ business owner to engrain this message into the minds of your customers. The team members in your organization also play a critical role in developing your brand because once you have marketed yourself as the leader in one aspect of your business; you must make everyone within your organization believe it first. This may not be as easy as it sounds. You must constantly remind all members of the organization that you are all collectively the best and the only way to do that is by being honest in your branding. BE the best and everyone will know it.
