Choosing the right power washer for your home cleaning needs can be difficult, especially when faced with the hundreds of options at many hardware stores. Luckily, experts have made a list of tips you can use to help narrow down your options and find the right power washer for your house. The first thing you should do when deciding on which power washer to buy is to assess your outdoor cleaning needs. What will you be using your pressure washer for? Many people use a power washer for cleaning siding, driveways and sidewalks, garages, decks, patios, and even cars. If you are planning on using your power washer for deep cleaning of cement or removing paint, you may need to get a power washer that is more powerful than one mainly used for washing siding or cars. Most people want to buy a pressure washer that can do a variety of jobs and can be set at different levels of pressure, but don't need the very heavy duty commercial options. There are many different washers that have a wide range of psi levels. Power washer levels of pressure are measured in psi. PSI means ?pounds per square inch? and it measures the level of pressure built up in the machine. A power washer psi level of around 1000 is required for washing cars or small jobs; whereas a psi of 3000 is needed for heavy duty power washer jobs, like stripping paint or deep cement cleaning. A pressure washer usually comes with a range of psi measurements that can be set according to the job you are performing. Make sure you purchase a power washer that can accommodate the psi specifications of the jobs you are expecting it to perform. Next, you should choose if you want a gas or electric powered power washer. An electric power washer needs to be plugged in, using a standard household outlet. The electric washer is quiet and relatively inexpensive, and can be a great option for smaller, less powerful jobs. A gas operated power washer does not need to be plugged in, and can be a good option if the areas you are wanting to clean are in hard to reach places, or are away from an outlet. A gas operated washer is usually more powerful, but can be pretty noisy and produces fumes and exhaust. A power washer can come with an assortment of attachments, and some of them can be very useful for specific jobs. It is important for many people to have a power washer that uses hot water for very messy or greasy areas. A washer can come with brushes, extenders for high places, and specialty nozzles. Some of these attachments can make a particular job a lot easier, so check out the accessories for each power washer you are considering before making your final selection. Choosing the right power washer is important, and you should find one that is easy for you to use and maintain. Determine what you want to use the machine for, and find one with the necessary attachments for the jobs you want to perform.
