Electric pressure washers can be great for cleaning driveways, washing windows, stripping paint, and cleaning many other surfaces. It can be important to know what to look for when purchasing or selecting electric pressure washers. One important consideration that should be included in the selection of electric pressure washers is the output of the unit. For the size of jobs done and frequency of use by the average homeowner, electric pressure washers in the 1,000 to 1,500 psi (pounds per square inch) range can be an affordable choice. Electric pressure washers in this range will have the needed pressure to conquer most household and outdoor home cleaning jobs. When choosing from among electric pressure washers, another factor to consider is the gallons per minute or rate of water flow available from the machine. While there are many cases where homeowners are concerned about water conservation, a higher rate of water flow on electric pressure washers can help to deliver more overall cleaning power. Do be aware that electric pressure washers cannot offer a higher rate of water flow than the water source they are hooked up to. For example, if your garden hose is not capable of delivering 4 gallons of water per minute, even a 4 gallon per minute rated pressure washer will not be able to deliver that rate of flow. It will not pull more water than is delivered by the waters source. The versatility and cleaning power of electric pressure washers is also impacted by the accessories chosen for use with the power washers. For example, if you purchase a 4 gallon per minute washer, but select only a 2 gallon per minute nozzle, you will not be utilizing the pressure washer at its full power. This is not necessarily a bad thing, since the 2 gallon per minute nozzle with a wide spray may be exactly what is wanted for more delicate tasks like window washing. Some owners of electric pressure washers like to have a variety of nozzles on hand that allow for more versatility. With electric pressure washers, you can purchase many different attachments that will give you additional cleaning options. One item that is available is a soap injector kit which allows you to use soap or chemicals to clean things like cars, or the grease sometimes left on driveways. There are also many different spray nozzles available from stream and spray nozzles to rotary nozzles that turn while spraying to speed up cleaning time. There are even specialty nozzles that can allow you to clean wide surfaces like driveways faster by channeling the pressurized water through multiple openings. Additional accessories that are available include different types of wands. For example, you could choose a telescoping wand that would allow you to reach second story windows or the top of your recreational vehicle without the aid of a step ladder. There are special angled hoses that allow the easy cleaning of rain gutters. With so many features and accessories available, you should be able to select just the right pressure washer for your needs.
