The next thing to check is whether the relocation service provider has got insurance. This is very important as there are chances of the household items getting damaged during the transit. The items may also get lost during the transit. Hence the provider needs to have insurance for both damaged and lost articles. The next thing to look for is whether the relocation company will provide free estimates by visiting the old house and having a look at the household items. Based on the inspection, these providers will be able to provide an approximate estimate of the amount that they will be charging for doing the relocation. Another important thing to check whether the provider is whether the packing is also included as part of their service. Some companies will try to squeeze more money by quoting only for the transportation of items and then demanding extra for the packing and unpacking services. At the initial stages of the discussion itself, the senior members of the family have to clearly get the information on all the services that will be included and the services for which they will be charged as extra. One more important thing to check is whether the service providers will be able to perform labeling of the various items, so that it becomes easy for them to unload and place it in the correct rooms in the new home. If they will not be doing labeling, then they should at least place the labeled items into their respective rooms. Last but not the least is the cost factor associated in shifting the items. One needs to check with these providers whether they will be able to give a discount if the shift happens on a weekday rather than on a Friday or the weekend.
