Studying for the Certified Professional Photographer Exam or CPP Exam is part of the process to become a certified photographer. It's part of a 3 step process to become a certified photographer. Step one is to state your candidacy for the accreditation, the second step is to successfully pass the CPP exam, and the the third step is to successfully pass the image submission evaluation. The CPP exam is a 100 multiple-choice exam that has to be completed in a 2 hour time period. The method to become a certified photographer is worthwhile and can be beneficial to your photography employment! Here are four ideas to help you get ready for the CPP exam: #1 Make A Plan Commit to a conscious decision to study and successfully pass the CPP exam. Take a moment with a calendar, your CPP exam date, pen and paper. Have a look at just how much time you have to study for the CPP exam and write down when you will study for the test. Are you going to study every Tuesday and Thursday 8-10am or Saturdays 9-11am? Arrange your study time so you have the very best chance of passing the CPP examination. #2 - Read the Book The recommended book is called Photography by J. Upton, J. Stone B. London. The book is 400 pages so it is a daunting task. The book is stuffed with excellent material and it would be a excellent reference for future photography inquiries. The exam focuses on every chapter in the book except for the history chapter. Furthermore, the cpp exam still contains some questions about film so look at film chapters so you will be able to answer those questions accurately. #3 - Make Use Of A Study Guide Because the book is 400 pages long, I would suggest finding some extra materials to help you prepare for the test. Try to find CPP study guides or flash cards. Make sure that the CPP study guide is complete and contains a practice exam. Part of the examination is not only understanding the material but also understanding the design of the questions so that you can move through the exam more effectively. It would be a waste to spend 5 minutes at the start of the exam considering the design of the questions and how to answer them when you know the solution. There is a number of photography teaching videos, lessons and workshops either locally or online that might be able to enable you to study for the test. #4 - Join A Study Group A CPP Study Group helps keep you accountable and on-task to get ready for the CPP exam. The test covers a great deal of material and if you are not determined to pass the test then you might be inclined to "study for it in the future". A great study group will be structured and have individuals learn and then present various photography topics at each get together. It's also a wonderful way to meet up with other photographers and share their photography happenings. Photography is a great deal about understanding and sharing with other photographers in the community. This could be an excellent way to prepare for the CPP examination and meet some new acquaintances. Photographers getting ready for the CPP exam find it a satisfying and demanding process. The best way to achieve success is to come up with a strategy, read the recommended book, utilize a study guide and become a member of a study group. Finally, if you are interested in becoming a certified photographer or want to learn more about an available cpp study guide , then see the Certified Photographer Headquarters.
