This is the ideal way of giving those little legs some time to rest and you may also wish to bring a kite, as this is a popular pastime up here. One of the high points of the trail is the view you will be met with over Bath. From the top of an Iron Age hill fort, you will be able to gaze down on the beautiful city below as it nestles within the green countryside. Make sure you pack a camera as there are many fantastic views like this all along the walk. If you are a nature lover then the Skyline will be a particular hit with you. It is home to many types of flora, some of which are quite rare so you may want to carry a handbook with you. There are also countless butterflies to be spotted here, while the skylark has made the surroundings its home and you may even be lucky enough to catch its song. If you have time, pay a visit to Prior Park, which joins the trail. These well-known 18th century landscaped gardens are a beautiful place to while away an hour or two. There are some gorgeous surroundings to be enjoyed here, including the sparkling lakes. One of these can be crossed using a Palladian bridge - one of only four in the world to make use of this design!
