Upon pickup, the tow-truck driver will give you a tax receipt. This receipt will suffice unless the car you donate sells for more than $500 at auction. If it does, we will provide an additional receipt that allows you to write off up to the total sale as a deduction. This tax deduction serves as yet a third reason to donate a car instead of trying to sell it. As mentioned above, we also handle all paperwork with the applicable department of motor vehicles. Note: if the registration on the donated car has already expired, or if it will expire before the vehicle donation is picked up, you are responsible for fees. If the registration expires after we pick up it up, it is our responsibility. In addition to accepting cars for automobile donation, we also pick up trucks, vans, airplanes, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, boats and trailers.
