Getting behind the wheel for the first time, picking up one’s girlfriend/boyfriend, and going on a long drive is among the most cherished memories for several individuals. However, realization of this dream necessitates learning how to drive. Therefore, it is not surprising that adolescent guys and gals often cite learning to drive a car as their most prized or urgent dream. One should hire the services of a professional driving instructor. While some jurisdictions still allow certified freelance driving instructors, it is advisable to hire an instructor empanelled with a driving school. Driving schools are able to provide critical training infrastructure which freelance driving instructors simple cannot provide. For example, driving schools typically have simulators that allow learners to practice their driving skills in a risk-free environment that closely resembles actual road and traffic conditions. Driving lessons typically start with an introduction to different traffic signs and standard traffic procedures. These are sometimes covered through classroom sessions, which are followed by written or computer-based tests. Most learners are impatient and do not accord much priority to classroom driving lessons. However, these are critical as they act as the foundation for practical driving lessons on the road. Learning to drive a car requires more patience than most adolescents are willing to devote to the task. Therefore, it is crucial that parents do not allow accelerated driving lessons, as desired by most adolescents. Parents should talk with driving instructors and ensure that the learner takes amply spaced out driving lessons. Parents should allow their son or daughter to take out their cars alone only when the lessons have been satisfactorily completed, and a proper license is issues. In some countries obtaining a driving license is a two-staged process. After enrolling in a certified driving school and finishing some initial lessons, an individual can apply for a learner’s license. This license permits the individual to drive a car only under the direct supervision of another individual who has a full-fledged driving license. Learner’s license also mandates putting up a large “L” sign to be placed on the front and rear windshields of the car. The minimum age for obtaining a driving license differs from one jurisdiction to another. For example, the minimum age to obtain a driving license for cars is eighteen in many countries. However, some countries grant driving license at the age of sixteen. Regardless of the country one resides in, one must comply with driving license related rules laid down by the local administration.
