Anybody who has experienced this facial problem would give anything to know of effective ways on how to get rid of acne fast. The secret to treating pimples and other skin blemishes quickly is taking really good care of your skin. Treating acne at home is becoming more and more popular these days as people begin to realize that many pharmaceutical acne medications are not as effective as promised and often have unpleasant side effects. Using lemon juice as a topical lotion is one of the easiest, and best ways to treat acne naturally. Lemon juice can be applied every day to the entire face, or to localized areas which need the most treatment. To prepare it you need to take a fresh, small lemon, remove the rind and cut the flesh into small cubes. Lightly rub one of the cubes over the skin and then discard. The other cubes can be placed in the refrigerator and will keep for a few days but after that will start to deteriorate. Allow the juice to soak into the skin for 10-15 minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water. Before you apply the juice you should clean your face with lukewarm water as well. Watch your diet - avoid sugary, fatty and oily foods. Instead, eat vegetables and fruits as well as non-processed foods that are rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals to keep your skin healthy. Eating oatmeal is good for your heart and over-all-health. Oatmeal is also effective against acne used as a facemask. Oatmeal absorbs skin oils from your face to minimize clog pores and infections. To prepare the oatmeal, mix enough raw oatmeal with warm water to make a thick paste. Apply the paste directly on the affected areas of your face and let dry for 10 to 20 minutes. Rinse off the mask with warm water and pat the skin dry with a clean towel. To get the best results, apply the oatmeal paste twice a day. Mix 1 tsp. of cream of tarter with your favorite juice and drink once daily. The cream of tarter acts as an antioxidant. With continued use pimples will clear up in about 3 days while preventing other breakouts. When treating acne, opt for natural solutions instead of over the counter medications that may contain harmful chemicals. Peels of orange and other citrus fruits can be made into a paste and use as a cleanser to acne affected skin. Grind a few pieces of peel mixed with some water to make a paste. The acidic property of the citrus peels seems especially effective in clearing blackheads by unclogging pores. Do some spot testing to make sure you are not oversensitive to the acidic juices before using the paste over a wide area of your face. Dab egg whites on your face, particularly on each pimple, at night before bed. The next morning you should see a great improvement plus the benefit of an extra smooth face. Be sure to gently cleanse. Apply toothpaste, not gel, to your pimples overnight; it will dry them up. You may need to reapply the next night and soon they will be gone!
