Purses and handbags are a great way for the modern woman to express herself through fashion. They come in many varieties, from designer bags to handcrafted, artisan purses. Many people desire once in a lifetime, one-of-a-kind purses, and seek out unique fashion bags. Purses can be hand-woven, or created from fibers by a machine. Crocheted handbags have been around for years, but still remain a popular choice for women all over the world, of all ages and fashion tastes. Purses are also often crafted from hemp, or cotton fibers. Purses made out of fibers such as these are sought after because they are easy to care for, and many wearers desire organic, earth-friendly materials. Cotton and hemp purses are usually casual, and can be used for everyday use, but also come in larger sizes for use as an overnight bag or as a fun accessory to take to the beach. Plastic or nylon purses are available in limitless sizes, shapes, and colors. Because of their material, they are very durable and can stand up to the test of time. Because plastic is a man-made element, designers have a lot of freedom and utilize their options to produce fabulous purses and handbags of all colors and variety. Leather purses and handbags are adored by many for their look of luxury and sophistication. Leather is a very tough material, and wearers enjoy their strength and long lifespan. Purses are also made from other various animal skins and materials, although the use of animal products to make purses has been a source of debate for many years. Crocodile, snakeskin, and purses modeled to look like cheetah, leopard, or zebra print are also very popular. Whether it is genuine or imitation, purse and handbag designers have been inspired by nature and animal prints for many years. Purses can come simple, elegant and plain, or can be wildly embellished. Buckles, grommets, ties, and zippers are just a few of the features that are common in a purse or handbag. Some purses may have a latching closure, while others may utilize a drawstring closure. Some purses come with two straps, while other designs need only one. Clutch purses do not have straps at all, and are simply carried. Handbags can also come with many internal compartments to keep different possessions separate. Certain purses come with built in wallet organizers, while others may sport a change compartment or cell phone pocket.
