The beautiful Natural Parks If you are one of those people who love nature, a good excursion idea around Seville would be to visit the natural parks. Just one hour’s drive away on the road that leads you to Huelva, you will find the Donana Natural Park. This park is home to the largest aviary reserve not only in Spain, but in the entire continent of Europe, thanks to the perfect climatic conditions and the fact that it is situated along the birds’ migration routes. The Aracena Sierra Natural Park is another beautiful destination for tourists. Situated in the spectacular Sierra Morena Mountains, the park is the perfect place for hunting or climbing. You can also enjoy the view, which is dominated by thick oak, chestnut and cork forests. You should also visit the villages of Aracena and Alajar, as they will charm you with their simplicity and authenticity. The cities and towns that deserve your interest If you love history, then you must visit the beautiful Roman city of Italica, or rather, its ruins. Italica is located near the current-day village of Santiponce. The city was founded by the Roman general Scipio and two Roman emperors were born there: Hadrian and Trajan. When you go there, you will have the chance to see one of the largest amphitheaters built by the Roman Empire with a capacity for 25,000 spectators, a modern Roman park and a theatre which you will find in the old center of the town. A beautiful excursion would be to travel to the city of Carmona, located just 30 kilometers away from Seville, in the center of the fertile province of Campina. The city was founded by the Phoenicians, but the Romans conquered it and left their mark inside its walls. If you go there, you can visit the Roman Amphitheater as well as a series of buildings dating from the time of the Romans. The Moors also ruled over the city for a long time. The Gate of the Alcazar of Seville and the Alcazar Almohade rise in silent testimony to the rule of the Moors. Ecija ferienhaus costa brava is 88 kilometers away from Seville and is a famous grain-producing village founded by the Phoenicians, situated by the Genil River. The Romans were also interested in this village as well as many other villages in the region and they eventually conquered the Phoenicians for possession of Ecija. Attractions of interest to tourists here are the mosaics and the numerous towers.
