Radiology information is a form of medical specialty in which imaging techniques are applied to diagnose as well as treat ailments within our body. Radiologists use a collection of imaging techniques, say X-RAY, USG, CT Scan, nuclear medicine, PET and MRI to spot and treat diseases. The different types of Radiology informationy techniques: - Radiographs (commonly known as X-Rays) it is produced when X-ray is passed through a patient’s body to a capturing device and further an image. The Silver Containing films are most common and the original form of imaging. With modernization of techniques this Screen radiography is replaced by Digital radiography. Radiography is commonly the first-line test preferred by the radiologists due its availability and cheap cost. Fluoroscopy- Angiography and Fluoroscopy are the special x-ray imaging applications. In this image intensifier tubes as well as a screen that is connected to a CCTV system. The patient as given radio contrast agents orally or through injection to sketch out the functioning and the anatomy gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system or the blood vessels. It is commonly used to diagnose tumors or cysts. Interventional Radiology informationy - it is mainly used to diagnose and treat peripheral vascular diseases, Inferior vena cave filter placement, gastrostomy tube placements, biliary stents and hepatic interventions in a minimally invasive method. Computed Tomography- X-rays is used in addition with algorithms to take image of the body. It is used for diagnosing urgent situations such as hemorrhage, clots in the arteries of the lungs, appendicitis, and curing kidney stones. Ultrasound-it’s the use of sound waves with high frequency to locate the soft tissue in the body. It is used to see the stages of the foetus, kidney stones etc. Magnetic Resonance Imaging- it uses magnetic fields to locate the atomic nuclei within the tissues, then uses a radio signals to create disturbance in the axis of rotation of nucleus and observes the radio frequency signal generated And none the less are the nuclear medicines imaging which are administered into the patients containing materials which have the affinity for tissues labeled with radioactive tracer.
