Typically when you use one, you will need to enter a couple of things. It will ask you if you are male or female and it will ask you for your height. These few things will allow the calculator to come up with at least a base range for your ideal weight. This doesn't mean you absolutely must be within this range, however it is a pretty good rough idea anyway. At the very least if you weigh within the range it provides for you, you are within your healthy range. Your healthy weight may not be right at the ideal weight the calculator says, which is alright. Many people will be a bit higher or a bit lower. This is the reason behind the range, as opposed to a specific weight. Some people are indeed bigger boned than others. Some people have more muscle. Muscle weighs far more than fat, so this can play a big role in your ideal weight as well. With all of these things to factor in, the weight provided by one of these calculators must be kept in perspective. Once you have determined your ideal weight for your frame, the idea is to reach within that range and then find a way to stay there. For most people, it will forever be a struggle to get and stay within that range. However, if you can be even close to your ideal weight range, then you are on the right track. The more you watch what you eat and the more you exercise, the closer you will remain to your ideal weight.
