Spiritual Education Workshops : A turning point in lifelong Learning Aditi M Sengupta.;Harvard Medical School, Post Graduate Association One of the highlights of the SpiritualEducation community as an Institute is to hold workshops at regular intervals before a part 1 course, which is the foundaton stone of joinig the Instiute in life long learning process. The staff members responsible for planning the workshop try to find activities that raise awareness in the community, as the programs are directed towards preventative health practices.By encouraging future students of the Institute, irrespective of age and social status to share what they know ,to formulate questions and to raise one another's awareness, the workshops help them to see health as a dynamic , personally relevant topic. They come to see that good health entails knowledge , attitudes, choices and practices. The workshop often helps participants realize that they have the ability to gather necessary information, to use the resources (written materials and web based readings), to get appropriate informations and to understand their personal health needs. Activities often include participating in health related simulation games; creating skits to explore reactions to health related challenges; writing and designing public health messages that can be used for radio announcements , videoclips, newspaper articles and other media; and engaging in panel discussions, debates and group investigations. Each program activity described here adds a unique dimension to the overall Institute experience, contributing to the active learing and interdisciplinary style of instruction;for a life long calendar of activites where the participant has the opportunity to come back at any point of their life.
