The Chrome and Android operating systems are Google's newly developed systems that they're working on. Google OS is mostly based on their Chrome web browser that runs web apps. It is designed to be a really easy, user-friendly computer operating system that may be used on several devices. Now you ask,, where will the platform actually fit in? It is hard to figure out how many people will switch over to Google Chrome OS. One huge dilemma is that Google Android already exists. It's on several mobile phones now and soon to be netbooks and tablet computers. Web developers and producers have been employing and developing Android much more than Chrome. Although it is an excellent web browser, there doesn't seem to be room for it yet in the market place. Some have argued that Google OS could be a quick boot alternative for Windows computers. The idea is that you could boot into Chrome to send quick email messages or check something on your netbook or laptop. Although this may seem like an ideal place for this type of technological innovation to fit, you will find already quite a few options. Firstly, many can use their smartphone for quick internet tasks. Secondly, if someone would like a quick boot system there are a wide variety of open source operating systems that have been in a position to do this for several years. It seems that if Google would like this OS to have a place, they'll need to make a Google Chrome OS hardware device just like they've done using the Nexus One phone running Android. This might possibly be a tablet computer or a basic netbook computer that's designed to run this operating system exclusively to help increase its popularity. Yet another alternative is that Android and Chrome might turn into the exact same project down the road as Google attempts to fully get into the operating system market. Google will release the Chrome OS very soon, but many people are not sure exactly where it'll fit into today's crowded OS market. In the near future, we won't only see what it can do and where it will fit in, but if it will be a good fit for your particular computing needs.
