Trying to conceive after 35 can sometimes be more difficult than when you were younger. Does this mean that it is impossible to conceive and that you shouldn't even try? Of course not, it simply means that you needs to get smarter and make sure you are doing everything in your power to successfully get pregnant. Don't Panic The first thing to concentrate on is 'try not to panic'. Yes famous last words I know, but in reality they are really important. As you get older you feel your body clock ticking and it can feel like you are running out of time. Whilst this is true to a certain extent you shouldn't need to worry as it often takes a while to get pregnant and trying to conceive after 35 years of age is no different at all. Get Smarter As your body clock ticks over you need to make sure you are doing everything possible to give yourself the best chance of conceiving after 35. The first thing to do is to truly understand your ovulation cycle and more importantly take advantage of this. If you aren't sure how this works I would highly recommend getting a book about it but in short this is what its all about. On average women have a 28 day menstrual cycle and during this cycle they ovulate and one particular time. If you can figure out when this time is then that is when you have the best chance of getting pregnant and needless to say is when you should have the most sexual intercourse. Finding out this time is really quite simple as it normally happens 14 days prior to getting your period so its just a matter of keeping track of your periods and tracking when 14 days prior to your next one will be. Like I said not an exact science but well worth the effort. Stay Healthy The final thing that you can do in order to help you conceive after 30 (or at any age for that matter) is to really look after your body. Regular exercise, healthy eating and low stress living. The better your body is functioning the better the chance of it working properly and producing that baby that you are so longing for.
