A fashion accessory that people are starting to utilize more and more these days are fascinators. These originated as a headpiece made out of lace or wool that was similar to a shawl, but those seemed to disappear around the 1970s. The term is now making a comeback, however. Today's pieces are delicate head decorations that are usually attached to a comb or headband, generally featuring feathers, beads and flowers. They are often worn with formal attire at special events. Today's fascinators tend to be gaining popularity at events such as premium horse-racing events. If a comb style is being used, it is recommended that the area where the comb will be is back combed a bit to provide a thick and strong area for the comb to grip. Push the comb in slightly to the opposite direction before sliding it into place to ensure a firm grip. Next, carefully spray hairspray around the area of the comb, while avoiding the actual detail of the fascinator. If using a headband style, they generally hold in place quite well without any additional anchoring. Careful attention to your piece should ensure it lasts for many years. When not in use, store it in the original hat box provided and find a storage spot away from direct sunlight at room temperature.
