On November 18, The Salvation Army in Toronto officially launched its Christmas Campaign with the World’s Largest Kettle. In the Greater Toronto Area Salvation Army kettles are manned by more than 2,000 bell-ringers in 400 stores and shopping centres. The fundraising objective this year is $3 million. Says Captain John Murray, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations and Development: “Each year The Salvation Army is thankful to the generosity of so many in our community who support our annual campaign. This support provides practical help that changes lives and also gives people a sense of newfound dignity.” For the practical, there are inexpensive models that do the job just fine.
